House of the Vigilant, 2025

silk organza, silk and polyester thread, mirror, metal chain, beadwork, mixed media

57 x 34.5 x 8 cm

House of the Vigilant assembles embroidered forms within a contained frame, establishing an interior architecture of protection. Female figures emerge as quiet guardians across the surface, holding watch within a fragile yet stabilised field. They stand in vigilance so that those within can rest.

Broken glass and salvaged materials are integrated and transformed, shifting from threat to ornament. The work sustains vigilance as a condition that makes safety and sleep possible.
